Since its establishment in 2007, the firm has been providing a range of services both on a global and local scale, including liquidations (on a solvent and insolvent basis), fraud investigation and asset recovery, hedge fund restructuring and distressed property services.
As summer approaches, Grant Thornton is delighted to share that two of their 2023 summer interns have joined the professional services firm as full-time employees following the successful completion of internships and probation periods in their new roles. This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the valuable experience gained during their internships.
The Cayman Islands Amateur Golf Championships, presented by Grant Thornton, took place on 16-17 March 2024 at North Sound Golf Club. Championship division winners included Mendes, Isabel, Glynn, Conor, Corin, Denis and Kapuscinski, Scott. Handicap division winners included Guilbard, Manon and Kassam, Hunter.
The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority recently published the annual Anti-Money Laundering ("AML") and Counter-Terrorist Financing Activity Report (the "Report") for 2022. The Report sets out CIMA’s AML / CFT activity and risk-based approach (“RBA”) to on-site inspections during the period and found that 940 requirements were issued across 88 on-site inspections. CIMA will continue to take robust and prompt action where it finds that regulated entities are not meeting the standards required by the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations (2023 Revision), including enforcement action and fines where appropriate.
