Henri Ching

Background

Henri is a Manager in Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP's Insurance & Corporate team. He is a licensed public accountant, a certified management accountant, and a certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt with assurance and advisory experience focusing on business process reviews, SOX internal controls and external audits.

Experience

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Henri worked as an audit manager in Indonesia, and as an audit and advisory senior consultant in the Philippines at top international accounting firms.​ He has audited publicly listed clients in the Philippines and PCAOB-regulated clients in Indonesia and has devoted his time to reviewing compliance in audit quality of other engagements, leading trainings in the Learning & Development function and assisting in the implementation of digital audit initiatives. Henri joined Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP in 2021 and was promoted to Assistant Manager in July 2022. He currently handles audits of insurance / reinsurance captives and local clients.

Henri gained valuable leadership experience and solution-based mindset during his years in advisory consulting, where he led local business transformation projects, operational efficiency engagements, capacity planning, successful cross-border process migrations in Asia-Pacific, and outsourced internal audits covering Asia and EMEA regions.​

Industry experience

Henri has worked with clients in various industries including, insurance / reinsurance captives, company management, extractive and metals, power, real estate, construction, manufacturing and industrial products located in the Cayman Islands, Philippines and Indonesia, varying from listed to non-listed. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he handled the audit of one of the largest gold mines in the world. During these years, he has gained a wide range of business-related skills and experience around process reviews, capacity planning, analytical reviews, project management, accounting and auditing standards (SOX 404, PCAOB regulations, ISA, US GAAP and IFRS), internal controls and substantive testing.​
