Background
Graeme is a Senior Manager on Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP’s Asset Management team, and is responsible for completing audit work, including planning and fieldwork on engagements. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over six years’ experience. Graeme joined Grant Thornton in 2019, moving to the Cayman Islands from Dublin where he worked for a Big-4 firm.
Experience
He graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in 2013 after obtaining his Bachelor of Business Studies and French – BBS. (Lang). During his second year, he attended the Parisian business school ESCP Europe as part of the Erasmus Programme. In 2014, Graeme obtained a Higher Diploma in Professional Accounting from Maynooth University, Ireland and began his professional career at a Big 4 accountancy firm in Ireland. During his three and half years spent there, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ireland.
Industry experience
During Graeme’s time in Ireland, he worked primarily on financial services clients, auditing a large subsidiary of a European investment bank, several SPV entities and both Irish and Cayman-domiciled fund structures.
In August 2019, after taking some time to travel the world, Graeme joined Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP. Since then, Graeme has audited a range of fund structures domiciled in the Cayman Islands and the United States. He has extensive experience reporting under both the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
