Background
Claire is a Director on Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP’s Asset Management team in the Cayman Islands. She manages multiple fund audits and is directly responsible for the management of her teams to ensure client deliverables are issued in a timely and efficient manner.
Experience
Claire is a qualified CPA. After graduating from Trinity College Dublin in 2013, began her career with a big 4 accounting firm in the Cayman Islands. During her training, Claire gained experience working on a varied portfolio clients with a focus on hedge funds and fund of funds.
Upon gaining her CPA qualification, Claire transferred to New York to further concentrate her experience in the funds industry with a varied portfolio of clients ranging to $356 billion AUM. Claire completed a short assignment as Project Consultant after transferring to Boston, where she provided managerial responsibilities and recommendations to audit leadership teams as their trusted business advisor.
Industry experience
In 2019, Claire returned home to the Cayman Islands to join Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP as an Audit Manager on the Asset Management team and she has since been promoted to Senior Manager and now Director.
Her current clients include hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, mutual funds and other alternative investment vehicles. Claire has reporting experience under United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards with excellent knowledge in the application of the various accounting frameworks and relevant local legal requirements applicable to funds.
