Background
Cian is a Manager on Grant Thronton (Cayman) LLP’s Insurance team. He is an ACA qualified accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland. Cian is highly knowledgeable in the captive and reinsurance sector, reporting under Irish GAAP and IFRS. He has mainly worked on global PIE clients as well as a host of non-PIE clients with a Big 4 firm in Ireland along with large global insurance intermediaries and non-life insurance clients.
Experience
Prior to joining Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP, Cian worked for a Big 4 firm in Dublin for six years as an Audit Senior and Assistant Manager. His main area of focus has been in the insurance sector, primarily working on a global insurance underwriter, a global savings and retirement services company, a global insurance broker professional services firm and various captive insurance companies within large groups such as Alphabet and Coca-Cola.
Industry experience
Cian is well versed in a variety of reporting standards, with majority of his client’s reporting under Irish GAAP and IFRS, and gained industry working on secondment in Permanent TSB. He joined Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP’s insurance team in July 2021 and has worked with clients in several industries such as healthcare, multimedia, banking, legal and energy, in addition to a wide variety of captive and reinsurance companies.
